Louie Schwartzberg

Louie Schwartzberg is an American director, producer, and cinematographer recognized for his monumental career that spans over three decades, highlighting his profound skill in capturing breathtaking imagery for feature films, television shows, documentaries, and commercials. Schwartzberg's filmography presents a vast diversity, including directing the 2019 film, "Fantastic Fungi," and the 2014 Netflix series, "Moving Art."

Schwartzberg is a pioneer in high-end time-lapse cinematography, consistently shooting time-lapse footage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for more than 30 years. His focus lies in the intricate connections between humans and the subtleties of nature and the environment. He has also contributed to the creation of some of the most iconic and memorable film moments of our time, such as the documentary feature for Disneynature, "Hidden Beauty," which was narrated by Meryl Streep. This film won Best Theatrical Program at the Jackson Hole Science Media Awards 2012 and a Best Cinematography Roscar Award.

Other notable directorial work includes "Mysteries of the Unseen World," a 3D-IMAX film created in collaboration with National Geographic. The company was an evolution from Energy Film Library, another company Schwartzberg had established earlier, which was later acquired by Getty Images in 1997.
