Maja Kazazic

Maja Kazazic is an internationally recognized motivational speaker, entrepreneur, strategist, and a survivor of the Bosnian genocide. Throughout her career, she has used her profound personal and professional experiences to provide valuable insights and solutions for individuals and organizations aiming to foster positive change in their lives and workplaces.

Kazazic's life took a dramatic turn during her childhood due to the genocide that affected over 250,000 people. She suffered severe injuries leading to the amputation of her leg. Rescued by Sally Becker and treated in a U.S. Army Hospital in Germany, she later settled in the USA for further medical treatment. Despite enduring over 100 surgeries and the daunting challenge of learning to walk again with a prosthetic leg, Kazazic never lost sight of her athletic aspirations. Her determination saw her complete her first 5K race in 2009 and engage in sports like windsurfing, tennis, and golf.

Her journey also includes battling severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), characterized by panic attacks and night terrors. Support during this challenging time came from an unlikely friend, an amputee Great Dane named Rosie, who has been a profound source of comfort and resilience. This relationship underscores her keynote speeches, which often touch on themes of overcoming adversity, empathy, and mental health.

Kazazic has also made significant strides professionally. She pursued higher education and launched a successful career in a large insurance company before founding a software development company. This enterprise serves a clientele that includes Fortune 100 companies and focuses on web development, eCommerce, and training solutions. Her business acumen and leadership skills have made her a sought-after speaker and consultant, especially in discussions about cultivating a positive and healthy corporate culture that thrives on teamwork, diversity, and resilience.
