Marcia Belsky

Marcia Belsky is a New York City based stand-up comedian, musician, and writer. Her song "100 Tampons" was a hit, premiering on Comedy Central's Taking the Stage in 2020 and garnering over 1 million shares on TikTok.

Belsky's comedic talents led her to become a semifinalist in the NBC Stand-Up competition in 2014. In 2016, she initiated the Headless Women of Hollywood project, a blog that exposes the objectification of women on film and television posters. This project resulted in features on the BBC, NPR, and other major outlets such as USA Today, Buzzfeed, E! News, and AV Club. Furthermore, her writing has been showcased on platforms like the New York Times and Reductress.

As a co-host of the podcast "Misandry with Marcia and Rae" alongside comedian Rae Sanni, Belsky has made several guest appearances on notable platforms such as NPR’s "Marketplace," "Radiolab," "Las Culturistas," "Conversations With People Who Hate Me," and even the video game Fortnite.

Aside from her individual pursuits, Belsky has successfully collaborated on two full-length musical parodies with Melissa Stokoski. One of her co-written pieces, "Handmaid’s Tale: The Musical," was performed across the Northeast, notably at The Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater in Washington, D.C. In 2022, Belsky extended her influence by giving a TED Talk, "The 100 tampons NASA (almost) sent to space -- and other absurd songs."
