Marg Helgenberger

Marg Helgenberger is an Emmy-winning actress renowned for her significant roles in the television dramas "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "China Beach."

Helgenberger graduated with a degree in drama from Northwestern University, following which she started her acting career on the soap opera "Ryan's Hope," appearing over the next four years. She then took various roles throughout the 1990s, particularly in made-for-television movies and several TV series. Her performances in "In Sickness and in Health," "Thanks of a Grateful Nation," and "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town: JonBenét and the City of Boulder" have been well received.

She earned an Emmy for her performance in "China Beach" as a resilient prostitute who catered to soldiers during the Vietnam War. Additionally, Helgenberger portrayed George Clooney's love interest in a multi-episode arc on "ER." In film, she has appeared in "Tootsie," "Species," "In Good Company," and in Steven Spielberg’s "Always." She is particularly noted for her role opposite Julia Roberts in "Erin Brockovich."

Helgenberger is also well-known for her television character as a crime scene investigator in "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," for which she and her team won the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. More recently, she starred opposite Dennis Quaid in "A Dog's Journey," the sequel to "A Dog's Purpose."

Off-screen, Helgenberger is the daughter of a cancer survivor and vigorously supports breast cancer research. Her dedication began many years ago when she and her ex-husband, Alan Rosenberg, initiated ‘Marg and Alan’s Celebrity Weekend.’ This annual event raises funds for breast cancer research and honors those who have overcome the disease, featuring activities like a celebrity golf tournament, poker tournament, silent auctions, and a brunch to celebrate survivors.
