Marysol Castro

Marysol Castro has over two decades of experience as a journalist and TV host, having begun her career in broadcast journalism in 2000 at News 12 The Bronx, later moving to WPIX-TV in NYC. Notably, she has become the first Latina Public Address Announcer for the New York Mets, marking a significant milestone in her diverse career. In addition to her work in sports, Castro continues to impact the media landscape with her innovative projects behind the camera as a writer, producer, and creator.

Her show "Somos," where she profiles Latinos from various sectors including arts, entertainment, and sports, offers viewers deep insights into the Latino community. Alongside "Somos," she hosts "The Weekly Good" on OGTV, a program that highlights positive news stories, reinforcing her commitment to uplifting content. Her tenure as a weather anchor on "Good Morning America" for seven years and later at CBS's "The Early Show" helped her hone her skills in live reporting and interviewing notable figures across different fields.

Castro's educational background includes attending Wesleyan University followed by Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, equipping her with a solid foundation in media and communications. Her experience extends to sports journalism, having served as a Host and Sideline Reporter for ESPN, covering prestigious events like the Little League World Series and Invictus Games. Additionally, she hosted "The Daily Glow," a talk show for the digital media outlet Little Things.
