Michael Broome

Michael Broome earned a BA in leadership and public speaking from Appalachian State University, where he was twice elected student government president. Through independent study, he designed his major and began his career in public speaking by addressing any group composed of two or more. Since 1979, he has spoken to over 3,000 audiences worldwide, delivering talks on a plethora of topics including leadership, adversity, goals, conflict resolution, and family harmony. Broome's ability to blend humor with intellectually stimulating content has made his presentations not only enjoyable but also impactful.

As the founder and President of the Broyhill Leadership Conference, Broome has demonstrated a substantial commitment to leadership training. More than 29,000 participants from across North America have attended these week-long conferences, which many have described as transformative experiences. His speaking engagements are not limited to leadership seminars; he has addressed a wide range of events including The Million Dollar Round Table and Congressional Dinners. Broome's speeches often cater to diverse audiences, including management and sales professionals, as well as other varied groups.

Broome is also an accomplished author, having penned "Be a Liver of Life, Not a Gallbladder," in which he articulates his philosophy that ultimate success is achieving a life enriched with values that money cannot buy. He and his wife, Karen, are deeply involved in charitable work, notably running a summer camp for teens from residential homes and foster care. They live on a 1,500-acre farm, where Broome indulges in his passion for conservation, maintaining the land and its wildlife.
