Michael Richards Biography
Michael Richards, a well-established actor and former stand-up comedian, is best recognized for his portrayal of Cosmo Kramer in the NBC television sitcom "Seinfeld," a role he inhabited from 1989 to 1998. This performance not only garnered him worldwide recognition but also awarded him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series on three separate occasions. Beyond "Seinfeld," Richards continued to display his comedic talents with guest appearances on shows like "Mad About You" and "Cheers," reprising his role as Kramer.
He has acted in films such as "So I Married an Axe Murderer," "Airheads," and "Trial and Error." In 2000, Richards took on the challenge of starring in his own sitcom, "The Michael Richards Show," though it was unfortunately short-lived. More recently, in 2013, Richards portrayed Frank in the sitcom "Kirstie" and took on the role of Daddy Hogwood in the 2019 romantic comedy "Faith, Hope & Love."
In 2024, Richards opened up about his private battle with prostate cancer in 2018 in anticipation of the release of his memoir, "Entrances and Exits." In the book, Richards also describes life after the 2006 scandal where he shouted racial slurs to a comedy club audience and how he has worked on himself.
