Monisha Kaltenborn

Monisha Kaltenborn is an accomplished lawyer and business leader, best known for her pioneering role in Formula 1 as the first female team principal. Kaltenborn began her career in motorsport in 2000 when she joined Sauber, a Formula 1 team based in Switzerland, initially working in the legal department. By 2010, she became the CEO of the Sauber F1 Team and was later appointed team principal in 2012, breaking barriers as the first woman to hold such a position in the sport’s history. Her leadership helped guide the team through significant changes in the highly competitive racing landscape.

Born in India and raised in Austria, Kaltenborn studied law at the University of Vienna and later completed her master's at the London School of Economics. Her legal expertise and business acumen made her a trusted figure in the automotive world, especially in navigating the complex regulatory and commercial aspects of Formula 1. Kaltenborn was instrumental in ensuring Sauber’s survival and competitiveness in the sport during financially challenging periods.

Beyond Formula 1, Monisha has continued to make her mark in the world of motorsports and business. She founded KDC Racing, a team in the Formula 4 championship, focusing on developing young talent and promoting diversity in the sport.
