Nicolas Winding Refn Biography
Nicolas Winding Refn is a Danish filmmaker. Winding Refn went to the United States in 1981 and was educated at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1993. He is famous for directing the "Pusher" trilogy. Winding Refn is married to actress Liv Corfixen, with whom he has one child, and is the half-brother of Danish singer Kasper Winding.
In 2006, Refn embarked on another feature film called "Valhalla Rising" (2009), inspired by a story his mother read to him aged five about a father and son who embark on a trip to the moon. Not recalling the ending of this story has been a long-time fascination with the unknown. His film "Drive," starring Ryan Gosling, premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where he received the best director award. He also directed "Only God Forgives" in 2013 and "The Neon Demon" in 2016.
