Noah Feldman

Noah Feldman, a Harvard Law Professor, explores the relationship between Islamic law and Western-style democracy, focusing on how these can coexist within various legal frameworks. His study extends to the intersections of technology, governance, ethics, and law, particularly as they relate to artificial intelligence. As a Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard University, he holds influential academic positions, including chairing the Society of Fellows and directing the Julis-Rabinowitz Program on Jewish and Israeli Law. Feldman has significantly contributed to constitutional design and the history of legal theory, throughout his career.

Apart from his academic roles, Feldman has served in vital advisory capacities, providing counsel on constitutional matters internationally. In 2003, he was a senior constitutional advisor to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq and helped members of the Iraqi Governing Council draft the Transitional Administrative Law or interim constitution. His influence extended to advising on the drafting of the Tunisian constitution following the Arab Spring. Recently, he founded Ethical Compass Advisors, which consults for major companies like Meta, eBay, and TikTok on ethical decision-making, and played a pivotal role in conceiving and architecting the Facebook Oversight Board.

Feldman is a prolific author, having written 10 critically acclaimed nonfiction books that delve into various aspects of law, history, and society.
