Owen Biography
Owen, the primary solo project of American indie rock and emo musician Mike Kinsella, has been active since 2001. Known for its soft melodies and complex acoustics, Owen's music artfully combines acoustic guitar with keyboard, other guitars, vocals, and drums. He has progressively released several albums, including "Owen," "No Good for No One Now," "I Do Perceive," "At Home with Owen," "New Leaves," "Ghost Town," "L'Ami du Peuple," "Other People's Songs," "The King of Whys," and "The Avalanche." Owen released his latest album "The Falls of Sioux" on April 26, 2024.
Owen's music falls under several genres, including indie rock, emo, math rock, singer-songwriter, and acoustic rock. He is signed to a number of labels such as Polyvinyl Records, Hobbledehoy Record Co., Wichita Records, and Big Scary Monsters. The fifth album, "New Leaves," notably reflects personal growth and complexity, revealing the influence of Kinsella's life changes on his music. In addition to albums, Owen has also released the single "Abandoned Bridges" and an EP titled "O, Evelyn" in 2010, further expanding his discography.
