Patrick J Murphy

The Honorable Patrick J. Murphy is a Vetrepreneur and the first Iraq War veteran elected to the U.S. Congress. Serving as the 32nd Under Secretary of the Army from 2015 to 2017, he oversaw 1.3 million Army personnel and managed a $148 billion budget, demonstrating his leadership in both public service and military affairs.

The U.S. Army, comparable in scale to a Fortune 2 company, thrived under Secretary Murphy's tenure as he forged innovative public-private partnerships and successfully recruited over 120,000 Gen Z Americans to join what he calls "America’s Varsity Team." He currently shares his expertise as a lecturer at both the Wharton School of Business and the U.S. Army War College.

Secretary Murphy is an enterprise-level leader who has invested more than $30 million in the next generation of business & public service leaders, and serves on many for-profit and non-profit boards, which includes the United States Military Academy at West Point. Passionate about making a positive difference for his brother and sister veterans, he is the Chairman of the $50+ million ‘Face the Fight’ initiative to combat veteran suicide, which has taken 120K veterans’ lives since 9/11, and serves as an Ambassador for the US Chamber of Commerce.

After earning a Bronze Star for his combat deployments as an ‘All American’ with the 82nd Airborne Division, Secretary Murphy is a published author, television host & producer and has continued his lifelong commitment to forge a stronger America by building teams that make a difference.
