Randy Lewis

Randy Lewis is a Peace Corps volunteer, Arthur Murray dance instructor, Ernst and Young partner, Fortune 50 senior executive, and best-selling author. Before retiring in 2013 as Senior Vice President, he led Walgreens’ logistics division for sixteen years, growing the chain from 1,500 to 8,000 stores with the most advanced logistics network in its industry.

Lewis bet his career that he could create an inclusive workplace at one of America’s biggest corporations where people with disabilities could succeed and thrive. "No Greatness Without Goodness" is the powerful story of a corporate executive who, after watching the world through the eyes of his own child with autism, Austin, realized that we all have a greater responsibility to make the world a better place for everyone, including those with disabilities.

As the Senior Vice President of Walgreens, Lewis created thousands of full-time jobs for people with disabilities. He pioneered a disability employment model in its distribution centers that resulted in ten percent of its entire workforce consisting of people with disabilities (1,000+ PWDs) who are held to the same performance standards, are paid the same wages, and work side-by-side with non-disabled workers. It began with the launch of a distribution center in 2007, which became the world’s first-ever large-scale deployment of people with disabilities (40% of the workforce) in a mission-critical site. The facility remains the most productive in the company’s 120-year history. From there, the model has spread to its other distribution centers and other companies in the U.S. and abroad, including companies such as UPS, Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Marks & Spencer (UK), and Natura (Brazil).

After retiring from Walgreens, Lewis founded the NOGWOG Disability Initiative. The non-profit organization is dedicated to the expansion of hiring the disabled by Fortune 500 companies based on Walgreen's experience. The Initiative is funded wholly by speaker fees and royalties from Lewis' best-selling book.

Lewis remains active in business and maintains an active speaking schedule about the advantages of hiring those with disabilities.
