Rex Hudler

Rex Hudler, often nicknamed "Wonder Dog," is a motivational speaker who applies his professional baseball experiences to provide a message of hope, energy, and inspiration to meet life's challenges. He was a first-round draft pick of the New York Yankees in 1978, and throughout his career, he played for six Major League Baseball teams: New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Montreal Expos, St. Louis Cardinals, California Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Yakult Swallows of the Japanese Central League in 1993.

During his time in Major League Baseball, Hudler was known as an energizing force both on the field and in the clubhouse. He played at every position except pitcher and catcher, giving him a unique perspective on being the ultimate team player. His spirit and energy were undeniable, engaging, and entertaining teammates, coaches, and fans alike. In his speeches, he shares practical fundamentals he used in baseball that can be applied in the business world.

After his playing career, Hudler switched to broadcasting. He was the color commentator for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 1999 to 2009. During this time, he also provided color commentary for the PlayStation baseball games MLB 06: The Show, MLB 07, MLB 08, MLB 09, MLB 10, and MLB 11. He then became the television color commentator for the Kansas City Royals in 2012, a position he still holds.

Off the field, Hudler co-founded Team Up for Down Syndrome with his wife, Jennifer. Together, they work to spread awareness and assist children and families with Down Syndrome. He has been active in various events, including The Let It Be Foundation golf event, the YMCA Challenge Your Fashion event, and countless others. His ability to inspire extends beyond the baseball field, making him a sought-after speaker for business giants such as ConAgra Foods, Bank of America, Advanced Sterilization Products (a J&J company), Franklin Covey, Edison Int'l, Terminix, among others. In recognition of his contributions to the world of sports, Hudler was inducted into the Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.
