Richard Browne Biography
Browne earned a name for himself at the London 2012 Paralympic Games where he claimed silver in the highly anticipated men's T44 100-meter dash. With sights on gold in Rio, the standout sprinter currently holds the world record in the men's T44 200m (21.62). He was also a member of the U.S. men's 4x100m relay team that holds the current world record set at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France. A below-the-knee amputee due to a traumatic accident in 2009, Browne grew up in Jackson, Mississippi playing football and basketball but never ran track in high school. Browne Jr. is the son of Richard Browne and Andrea Clincy and has nine brothers and sisters. He also is the father of three children: Jayce, Brooklyn and Aea. Outside of family and track, he enjoys boxing, music and cars.
