Robert Schmid Biography
Robert Schmid is the Chief Internet of Things (IoT) Technologist at Deloitte Digital, a position he has held since November 2014. With deep passion and experience in all things digital -- IoT, wearables, social, mobile, and cloud computing -- Schmid knows how to deliver business value.
In his current role, he has created and led Deloitte's IoT practice, grew it to over 100 people and an extended network of over 1,000 members. Schmid also created the strategy, vision, and plan for the IoT practice, and evangelizes that vision through keynotes and online videos.
Prior to beginning his work at Deloitte, Schmid worked in a number of roles, including as Technology Strategist at Salesforce, and as the CEO and founder of c1oudbase, a value-based consulting business for digital and tech strategy and implementations.
Schmid holds a master's degree in petroleum engineering from Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria.
