Robert Swan

Robert Swan, OBE, is an esteemed environmental leader and motivational speaker, recognized for his unique achievements in polar exploration. He was the first person to walk to both the North and South Poles by age 33, a feat that highlights his commitment to adventure and environmental awareness.

Swan was appointed as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Youth and a Special Envoy to the Director General of UNESCO, roles through which he advocates for sustainable development and engages with global youth. His leadership extended to organizing the first 'World Summit for Sustainable Development' in 1992, and he has since been actively leading environmental education and leadership training expeditions to Antarctica annually since 2003.

In recognition of his contributions to environmental exploration and education, Swan has been awarded the Polar Medal and was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty the Queen. Furthermore, he has pushed the boundaries of sustainable living by designing and building the world's first renewable energy Education Station in Antarctica, known as the E-Base, where he lived on renewable energy for over two weeks in 2008, demonstrating the viability of such energy solutions in extreme conditions.
