Robin Meyers

Robin Meyers serves as the Teaching Pastor at First Congregational Church of Norman UCC in Norman, Oklahoma, and holds the esteemed position of Distinguished Professor of Social Justice Tenured at Oklahoma City University. He is a well-traveled speaker, having lectured both domestically and internationally on Progressive Christianity, and his voice is familiar to listeners of National Public Radio, where he has been a commentator. His media presence extends to television, with appearances on programs such as "Dateline NBC," "PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer," and "ABC World News."

Meyers is an accomplished author with seven books to his credit on the subjects of Liberal and Progressive Christian theology. His works include "With Ears to Hear: Preaching as Self-Persuasion," "Why the Christian Right is Wrong: A Minister's Manifesto for Taking Back Your Faith, Your Flag, and Your Future," and "Saving Jesus From The Church: How To Stop Worshiping Christ and Start Following Jesus," which received an endorsement from Archbishop Desmond Tutu. His intellectual contributions were further recognized when he delivered the Lyman Beecher Lectures at Yale Divinity School in 2013, which were the foundation for his book "Spiritual Defiance: Building a Beloved Community of Resistance."
