Rogier van der Heide

Rogier van der Heide, a C-suite design executive and lighting designer, boasts a career decorated with numerous accolades, including the IALD Radiance Award, Lighting Designer of the Year Award, and the Red Dot Award Best of the Best. His tenure as Vice President and Chief Design Officer in Philips Lighting from 2010 to 2014 contributed to Philips Lighting receiving over 45 international design awards. In addition to his design executive role, van der Heide has had significant involvement in architectural lighting design projects. Notable projects include "Star Place" in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, "Galleria West" in Seoul, South Korea, and the "YAS Marina Hotel" in Abu Dhabi.

Van der Heide's portfolio extends beyond corporate leadership and includes artistic directorship. He co-founded and directed the Amsterdam Light Festival. His artistic contributions range from designing the lighting for the "Seoul Sky Garden" in Korea and the New Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands to creating the "Dream Cloud" design for Swarovski in 2010. His designs have been showcased in various locations worldwide, including the Amsterdam Public Library in the Netherlands and the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, USA.

Van der Heide serves as a C-Level Design and Business Executive at Curiosity Group GmbH and has formerly served as the Chief Design Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at Zumtobel Group. He also worked as the Global Head of Design and User Experience at Sonova Group and was a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company. His diverse experience extends to the realm of fashion and film, having designed costumes for the band Black Eyed Peas in 2011 and contributing to the lighting for the cinematographic production "A Day in the Life of the Castle" with Peter Greenaway in 2012. Van der Heide's work was also featured in the exhibition "Lightopia" with the Vitra Design Museum in 2014.
