Rosie King

When she was nine years old, doctors confirmed Rosie King's self-diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome. With two younger siblings severely affected by autism, Rosie had a burning desire to help make the world a more tolerant place for people with autism ever since she was a young girl. She found the opportunity to do so when her family was invited to do a local news segment on her mother’s children’s books that featured Rosie's illustrations. Her lack of inhibition made her a natural presenter, and she was asked to host BBC Newsround’s special program “My Autism and Me.” This program not only brought her a much wider audience but also received a BAFTA nomination, a Royal Television Society Award, and an International EMMY award.

Rosie continued to raise awareness about autism through various platforms. She has been a featured speaker at TEDMED in Washington DC, where she received a standing ovation for her compelling presentation. As a Young Ambassador for the National Autistic Society, she actively promotes understanding and support for autistic individuals. In her speeches, Rosie is known for her inspirational messages and is a champion of individuality, encouraging others to embrace their unique traits.

In addition to her advocacy and public speaking, Rosie is also an avid writer. She loves to write and often works on several pieces of creative fiction simultaneously. She is planning to write a book about life with her family, which promises to offer more insights into the challenges and joys of living with autism. Rosie continues to work towards her goal of becoming a professional actress and storyteller, using her talents to influence and educate a broader audience.
