Sandi Peterson

Sandi Peterson is a renowned global business leader at the forefront of leveraging technology, design thinking, disciplined portfolio management and strategic execution to drive financial performance and create new business models that will radically improve the health and wellbeing of people around the world.

Sandi was Group Worldwide Chair for Johnson & Johnson, where her transformational leadership helped to reinvent the 132-year-old company as a cutting-edge science and technology company. She led the Consumer and Medical Devices businesses, which together generate approximately $40B, or more than half of J&J’s total revenue, and include iconic brands such as Johnson’s Baby, Neutrogena, LISTERINE, TYLENOL, AVEENO and BAND-AID, as well as the company's Surgery, Orthopaedics, Interventional and Eye Health businesses. Sandi was responsible for global operating infrastructure, technology, supply chain, quality, design and Health & Wellness businesses. Her deep understanding of technology’s power to improve human health led J&J to forge 100+ partnerships with tech companies – from early-stage ventures to Alphabet, Microsoft, HP and others.

Prior to J&J, Sandi was Chairman & CEO of Bayer CropScience AG in Germany, previously CEO of Bayer Medical Care. Earlier, Sandi held executive roles at Medco Health Solutions (previously Merck-Medco), Nabisco, Whirlpool Corporation and McKinsey & Company.

Sandi is a member of the board of directors of Microsoft, and the Board of Trustees for Institute for Advanced Study and The American Academy in Berlin. She was Chairman of Board of EcoHealth Alliance and board member of Dun & Bradstreet. She has been named to Fortune’s list of Most Powerful Women multiple times and was named a “Director to Watch” by Directors and Boards. She was recently recognized by CED as 2017 Corporate Citizen and 2018 Robert. S. Hatfield Fellow in Economic Education from Cornell University.
