Selma Blair

Selma Blair is an American actress and activist. She played a number of roles in films and on television before obtaining recognition for her leading role in the film "Brown's Requiem" and for starring as Zoe Bean on the WB sitcom "Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane." She continued to find success with the teen drama "Cruel Intentions," comedies such as "Legally Blonde and "The Sweetest Thing," and achieved international fame with her portrayal of Liz Sherman in the big-budget fantasy films "Hellboy."

On television, she has starred in a multiple of roles including as Kim in the American remake of "Kath & Kim;" as Kate Wales on the sitcom "Anger Management;" and as Kris Jenner in the first season of the FX drama series "American Crime Story." In 2010, Blair narrated the audiobook "The Diary of Anne Frank," earning a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for Children.

In 2018, Blair revealed that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and since then has been able to find purpose in the pain and is determined to give a voice to anyone who may have a disability. "Introducing, Selma Blair" was a documentary film that followed the actress adapting to new ways of living after revealing her MS diagnosis. The film had its world premiere at South by Southwest in 2021. She also wrote about her experiences with MS in her memoir, "Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up." Blair joined "Dancing with the Stars" in 2022 as part of her journey to inspire others with chronic illnesses and disabilities but had to leave the competition in its fifth wee due to health concerns.

In December 2021, Michelle Pfeiffer presented Blair with the Equity in Entertainment Award at the Power 100 Women ceremony. In December 2022 she was chosen as one of the BBC's 100 women.
