Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush is an actress, activist, producer, and global education access advocate. Bush is a member of the Directors Guild of America and has starred in various independent projects, shows, and movies such as the hit comedy "John Tucker Must Die," "The Hitcher," "Incredibles 2," The CW’s hit drama "One Tree Hill," and took the lead as Detective Erin Lindsay for four seasons on Dick Wolf’s "Chicago PD." In addition to her acting career, Bush has also lent her voice to the character of Voyd in Pixar's "Incredibles 2" and has appeared in music videos, including Passion Pit's "Carried Away." Furthermore, she has expanded her reach in the entertainment industry by producing various TV shows and films, including "Surveillance," "Another Body," and "Good Sam," where she also starred in the lead role of Dr. Samantha "Sam" Griffith.

In addition to her on-screen endeavors, Bush has taken on the director role for three episodes of "One Tree Hill." She has also ventured into the world of podcasts, hosting her own "Work in Progress" podcast and co-hosting the "Drama Queens" podcast with her fellow "One Tree Hill" co-stars. Bush has been recognized for her talent and contributions to the industry, receiving several awards and nominations, including the Teen Choice Awards, the Vail Film Festival Rising Star Award, the VH1 Do Something Twitter Award, and the Nelson Mandela Changemaker Award.

Named one of the most charitable celebrities by CNN, Bush devotes her free time to bettering girl’s education and the environment. Since taking to social media to share her passion for change, Bush has inspired young people to join her in raising nearly half a million dollars for charity, built three primary schools in Guatemala and Laos, and now serves as a global ambassador for Glamour's The Girl Project. Her focus with The Girl Project is to break down the barriers girls face to secondary school education. They are currently working in 96 countries around the world. Bush also participated in the "Live Below the Line" campaign to raise awareness of extreme poverty and won the Do Something Twitter Award for spreading the word about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill cleanup.

Bush also co-founded and sits on the board for “I Am a Voter,” where she campaigns and promotes awareness of registration tools while encouraging all to use their resources to participate in the voting process. She is a staunch supporter of equal rights for all regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background and is a founding member of the Time's Up movement. Bush has also shown her support for women's rights and reproductive rights by creating a clothing line benefiting Planned Parenthood and by publicly supporting Christine Blasey Ford during the Brett Kavanaugh nomination controversy. In 2024, Bush joined the board of directors of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ advocacy organization. Outside of her acting and activism, Bush is also involved in the world of sports, joining the ownership group for Angel City FC of the National Women's Soccer League.
