She recently founded and is serving as president of ElevateOurKids.org, a 501c3 non-profit to help bridge the digital divide in K-12 Education by fundraising and providing laptops to students in under-resourced communities. Ms. Atkinson held previous positions at Frost & Sullivan, In-Stat/MDR (Reed Business), Texlink Communications (formerly Taylor Communications), and Alcatel USA (Nokia).

Atkinson holds a B.S. in Industrial Distribution from the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Management of Technology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also volunteers at the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship and Aggie Women at Texas A&M University, and Heritage School in Fredericksburg, TX. She resides in Bandera, Texas, the 'Cowboy Capital of the World,' with her husband and 2 sons. Her motto is to "Don't live your life by Default, Be Purposeful."
