Stephanie Schriock

Stephanie Schriock is a Democratic political strategist, organizational leader, and former president of EMILY's List, having served from 2010 through 2021.

Schriock was elected president of EMILY's List in 2010, an organization dedicated to recruiting pro-choice Democratic women to run for elected office. Under her leadership, Schriock significantly enhanced the organization’s impact and scale, tripling its income to $120 million, quadrupling its staff to 120, and building an online community of over 5 million. She is credited with training more than 14,000 women to run for office and leading EMILY’s List through its most successful election cycles, including the record-setting 2017-2018 cycle that resulted in significant gains for women and women of color in office. She has authored the book "Run to Win: Lessons in Leadership for Women Changing the World," which shares insights and strategies for women seeking leadership roles.

In addition to her work with EMILY’s List, Schriock has held significant roles in various campaigns and organizations. She managed the successful U.S. Senate campaigns of Jon Tester in Montana and Al Franken in Minnesota, and served as the National Finance Director for Howard Dean’s presidential campaign, where she was a pioneer in Internet-based fundraising and campaigning. Currently, she is a Senior Advisor at the Strategic Victory Fund and consults for Precision Strategies and FrontRow.

Schriock also contributes her expertise to several influential boards and educational programs. She serves on the boards of the Goldman School’s Center on Security in Politics at UC-Berkeley, Priorities USA, and Democracy Docket. Moreover, she frequently speaks on leadership and the status of women at esteemed institutions such as Yale University, George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management, and Harvard Women in Law Program, sharing her extensive experience and insights into the political landscape.
