Stephen Jay Biography
Stephen Jay is an experienced Executive General Manager and Professional Engineer with 30 years’ experience of strategy development, asset management, transformation, and technology innovation within the energy and investment banking sectors.
Jay was General Manager of Operations at Transpower from 2020 to 2023, having previously held the role of General Manager Grid Development since 2014. Currently, he's the Executive VP of Energy Operations at Caribean Utilities Company. He is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and currently on the Board of the Electricity Engineers' Association. Jay was previously General Manager with Mitton ElectroNet – an engineering consultancy business.
He has had a long and varied career within the electricity industry, including time with C.E.G.B, National Power, Nuclear Electric, Midlands Electricity Plc, Parsons Brinckerhoff Power and Meridian Energy. For a short period in 2002 General Manager Operations was an Energy System Coordinator at Transpower.
