Sung Won Sohn

Dr. Sung Won Sohn currently serves as the President of SS Economics, a California-based economic consulting firm, broadening his impact on economic research and consultancy. He is also a Professor of Finance and Economics at Loyola-Marymount University. Previously, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hanmi Financial Corporation and before that, an Executive Vice President and Chief Economic Officer at Wells Fargo Banks where he oversaw international, national, regional, and agricultural economics.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sohn has held numerous prestigious positions including serving as a senior economist on the President's Council of Economic Advisors, where he was responsible for economic and legislative matters pertaining to the Federal Reserve and financial markets. In addition to his roles in academia and corporate leadership, Dr. Sohn serves as a Commissioner for LACERS (Los Angeles City Employee Retirement System) and Chair of the Investment Committee. He is also a board member for Western Alliance Bancorporation and the National Association of Corporate Directors PSW.

Dr. Sohn's foresight and expertise in economics have earned him significant recognition. He was named the most accurate economist in the United States by The Wall Street Journal in 2006 and has been selected as one of the most accurate forecasters in the nation by Bloomberg News in 2001 and Blue Chip Publications in 2002. His contributions to the field have also seen him being chosen as one of the 100 most influential Minnesotans of the 20th Century by The Star Tribune. Dr. Sohn is also a published author with works including "Global Financial Crisis and Exit Strategy" (2009) and "The New Economy" (2014), addressing complex economic issues and strategies.
