Sunisa Lee

Sunisa Lee, an artistic gymnast, is known for her achievements as a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team. She was instrumental in the team's gold-medal win at the 2019 World Championships, where she also earned silver on the floor exercise and bronze on the uneven bars. She secured three medals at the USA Gymnastics National Championships in her first year as a senior elite gymnast, with a national title on the uneven bars. Her international senior debut came at the 2019 City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy, where she took home the all-around title.

In the 2020 Summer Olympics, Lee qualified as a main team competitor, making history as the first Hmong American Olympian. She also became the first Asian American woman to secure the all-around Olympic title. Additionally, she won a bronze medal in the uneven bars final. Her spectacular performance at the Olympic Trials earned her second place, trailing only Simone Biles, and led to her automatic selection for the Olympic team alongside Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Grace McCallum. The governor of Minnesota and the mayor of St. Paul honored her historic Olympic achievements by proclaiming "Sunisa Lee Day."

Following the Olympics, Lee enrolled at Auburn University, where she continued to make waves in the gymnastics world. As a member of the Auburn Tigers women's team, she won numerous accolades and scored a perfect 10 in her collegiate career. She also won the 2020 Olympic all-around gold medal and an uneven bars bronze medal.

Fulfilling her role as a part of the "Golden Girls" team, Lee contributed to the gold victory at the 2024 Summer Olympics. She also won bronze in the all-around and uneven bars events in the same competition. Lee was honored as the Female Athlete of the Year by Sports Illustrated and Sportswoman of the Year by the Women's Sports Foundation in 2021. Moreover, she was included in Time 100, Time's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Lee also ventured into reality TV, appearing on season 30 of "Dancing with the Stars."
