Sunny Anderson

Sunny Anderson, born in Lawton, Oklahoma, grew up traveling the world as an Army brat. Encouraged by her parents, Anderson indulged in the local cuisine of the various places she lived. Her culinary explorations continued when she served in the United States Air Force as a military radio host in Seoul, South Korea. When she left the Air Force as an award-winning broadcaster, she continued her travels, working as a radio DJ in several cities before securing her dream job in New York at a top-rated radio station.

While working in New York, Anderson discovered a passion for cooking, which later evolved into a catering business, Sunny's Delicious Dishes. This venture led to a guest appearance on Food Network's "Emeril Live!" Shortly after, Anderson decided to leave her radio career and close her catering business to chase another dream: sharing her recipes with the Food Network audience.

Anderson's career with Food Network kicked off with her first show, "Gotta Get It," a food gadget show. This was quickly followed by "Cooking for Real," and "How'd That Get On My Plate." She also co-hosted the Food Network series "The Kitchen" alongside Jeff Mauro, Katie Lee, Marcela Valladolid, and Geoffrey Zakarian. Anderson has guest-starred on various talk shows and morning news programs, including "The Rachael Ray Show," "Good Morning America," "The Early Show," "The View," "The Talk," and "The Wendy Williams Show." Her unique cooking style combines classic comfort foods with unique flavors inspired by her travels.

In recent years, Anderson has expanded her on-screen career. She hosted "NFL Tailgate Takedown" with New England Patriots Hall-of-Famer Vince Wilfork in 2022, and later that year, she hosted Season 3 of "Outrageous Pumpkins" on Food Network. In addition to her television career, Anderson has been a Food and Lifestyle Editor for Hip Hop Weekly magazine and has taken an active role in raising awareness for ulcerative colitis, a condition she was diagnosed with at the age of 19. She has partnered with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America to support those affected by the disease.

Currently, Anderson resides in Sunset Park, Brooklyn with her four rescue cats, Cheddar Cheese, Truffle Tycoon, Milky Mouth and Sea Salt.
