Susan M. Mangiero

Prior to founding Investment Governance, Inc., Susan Mangiero has worked for notable organizations that include General Electric Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Bank of America, and Bankers Trust. She was selected as a risk management specialist for the World Bank team tasked with a review of the Chilean national retirement program. Dr. Mangiero has also served as a public arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers and has done forensic and expert witness work on a variety of investment, risk, and valuation cases.

Her book, "Risk Management for Pensions, Endowments, and Foundations" (John Wiley & Sons, 2005), addresses risk management and valuation issues, with an emphasis on fiduciary responsibility and best practices. Her articles have appeared in multiple prestigious publications, and she has written chapters for several books including the "Litigation Services Handbook" and "The Handbook of Interest Rate Risk Management." She is a contributing editor of the Journal of Compensation and Benefits and has been extensively quoted in numerous prominent newspapers and magazines. Dr. Mangiero is regularly invited to speak at events focusing on topics related to valuation, risk, and governance.

A Chartered Financial Analyst and certified Financial Risk Manager by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, Dr. Mangiero holds the designation of Accredited Valuation Analyst from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. She was awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies in August 2006. She holds a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Connecticut, an MBA in Finance from New York University, an MA in Economics from George Washington University, and a BA in Economics from George Mason University. Post-graduate computational finance work was completed at Carnegie Mellon University.
