Therese J. Borchard

Therese J. Borchard is a chaplain specializing in senior care, seasoned writer, and founder of two online mental health communities: Project Hope and Beyond, and Tribe GBB. Also a nationally syndicated columnist and coeditor of the bestselling books "I Like Being Catholic: Treasured Traditions, Rituals, and Stories" and "I Like Being Married", Borchard has expanded her influence by publishing articles in reputable platforms including the Washington Post, Newsday, the Baltimore Sun, Publishers Weekly, American Baby, and Beliefnet.com.

In her career, Borchard has served in editorial roles for major health websites, including senior editor for HealthCentral.com and associate editor for PsychCentral.com. Notably, she was an emotional health columnist for Everyday Health, and she has penned the award-winning blog Beyond Blue on Beliefnet for seven years. She has also written several books, including "Beyond Blue" and "The Pocket Therapist".

Borchard possesses a Master of Arts degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame. She recently completed a unit of the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program at Johns Hopkins University to further her training as a chaplain. In recognition of her significant contributions to the mental health community, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by Saint Mary’s College.

Borchard enjoys swimming, hiking, and horse riding in her spare time. She lives with her husband, son, and daughter in Annapolis, Maryland.
