Todd Huston

Todd Huston was in a near-fatal accident at age 14 when his legs got entangled in the propeller of a boat; he technically died twice during this ordeal. Subsequently, his life underwent a dramatic transformation leading to the amputation of his right leg at age 21, which he endured while conscious on the operating table. Beyond his career as a psychotherapist in Southern California, where he assisted individuals in surmounting physical and mental obstacles, Huston also embarked on an extraordinary challenge. He became the first leg amputee to climb the highest elevation in each of the 50 states and set a new world record in the process, surpassing the previous climbing record by 35 days.

Huston's accomplishments have garnered significant media attention, with features in top publications like Sports Illustrated, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal, as well as appearances on CBS's "Year in Sports" and Robert Schuller’s "Hour of Power". His life story has been captured in his autobiography, "More Than Mountains: The Todd Huston Story," and has also attracted interest for a movie screenplay. Among his numerous accolades, he has been honored with the U.S. Jaycees' Ten Outstanding Young Americans award, the Henry Iba Award for Outstanding Citizen Athlete, the Class Act Award, The Power to Dream Achiever Award, and the American Red Cross’s Everyday Hero Award.
