Tony Danza

Tony Danza is widely recognized for his roles in popular sitcoms and is one of America's most beloved television personalities. Having starred in some of television's most cherished and enduring series, Danza has also made notable appearances on stage and in films, as well as his work as a respected producer.

Producer Stu Sheslow discovered Danza at a boxing gymnasium in New York, leading to his casting in the critically acclaimed series "Taxi" by producer James Brooks. After his five-year stint on "Taxi", Danza starred and directed in the ABC comedy series "Who's the Boss?" for eight seasons. His television career continued with roles in other series like "Hudson Street" and the CBS dramatic series "Family Law" where he starred as attorney Joe Celano. Additionally, Danza played Tommy Silva in David E. Kelley's "The Practice," earning him an Emmy nomination.

In addition to his television work, Danza has appeared in a number of films, including "Angels in the Outfield" and "She's Out of Control." He also wrote, directed, and starred in the short film "Mama Mia." On Broadway, his performances include roles in the revival of Eugene O'Neill's "The Iceman Cometh" and Arthur Miller's "A View From The Bridge."

Danza's passion for music and stage continues as he prepares to release his debut album "The House I Live In" this fall. Recently, he showcased his musical talents during a performance on the PBS broadcast of the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C. Danza also continues to entertain with his song and dance stage show, which he first debuted in Atlantic City in 1995 and has brought to venues like Feinstein's at the Regency in New York and the Westbury Music Fair.

His commitment to philanthropy was evident when he participated in the relief concert at Madison Square Garden following Hurricane Sandy, and his dedication was recognized in 2013 when USA Today honored him at their annual National Make A Difference Day Awards.
