Tony Finau

Tony Finau is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. He is of Tongan and Samoan descent, making him the first person of such ancestry to play on the PGA Tour.

He turned professional at the age of 17 and began playing on mini-tours, including the Gateway Tour, NGA Hooters Tour, and National Pro Tour. Since turning professional, he has accrued a total of seven professional tournament wins, including six PGA Tour victories and one Web.com Tour win.

In March 2016, Finau won his maiden title on the PGA Tour at the Puerto Rico Open. He has since added further PGA Tour wins, including the 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open and the 2023 Mexico Open. Finau qualified for the first three majors in 2018, including his first Masters appearance, by making it to the Tour Championship in 2017. He finished 5th at the U.S. Open in 2018, his highest finish in a major tournament, and has achieved numerous top-10 finishes in major championships throughout his career. Finau has also shown his skill in international team competitions, with appearances in multiple Ryder Cups and Presidents Cups and a notable performance at the 2022 Presidents Cup, where he won three of his matches.

Off the course, Finau runs the Tony Finau Foundation, an organization aimed at empowering youth and their families in the local community. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has five children with his wife, Alayna Finau. He was featured in the sports documentary series "Full Swing," which premiered on Netflix in 2023.
