Tony Wagner

Tony Wagner currently holds the position of Expert In Residence at Harvard University's Innovation Lab, continuing his long-standing association with Harvard University where he has served for over two decades in various capacities. These roles include being the first Innovation Education Fellow at the Technology & Entrepreneurship Center at Harvard and the founder and co-director of the Change Leadership Group at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Wagner's professional background also includes twelve years as a high school teacher, K-8 principal, university professor in teacher education, and founding executive director of Educators for Social Responsibility.

As a Senior Research Fellow at the Learning Policy Institute, founded by Linda Darling-Hammond in 2015, Wagner focuses on innovation in education. His extensive bibliography as a widely published author includes several influential books such as "Most Likely To Succeed: Preparing Our Kids for The Innovation Era," co-authored by Ted Dintersmith and published by Scribner in 2015, and "Creating Innovators: The Making of Young People Who Will Change The World," which has been translated into 17 languages since its publication in 2012. His book "The Global Achievement Gap" remains an international bestseller with over 140,000 copies in print, and it is being translated into Chinese.

Wagner's contributions to educational media include serving as the Strategic Education Advisor for the documentary "Most Likely to Succeed," which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, he worked with filmmaker Robert Compton to produce "The Finland Phenomenon: Inside The World’s Most Surprising School System" in 2010. A frequent speaker at national and international conferences, Wagner addresses topics related to education and innovation.

Tony Wagner earned both his M.A.T. and an Ed.D. from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, solidifying his academic foundation in the theories and practices that drive his work in educational innovation today.
