Yeonmi Park

Yeonmi Park, a North Korean defector, author, and conservative activist, has garnered attention globally for her work and advocacy. Park's journey started when she defected from North Korea at the age of 13 and eventually became a South Korean citizen. Her life story has been a topic of interest for many, leading to her media debut in 2011 on the show "Now On My Way to Meet You" and her selection as one of the BBC 100 Women in 2014. Her memoir, "In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom," was published in 2015, providing a more in-depth look into her experiences, and has sold over 100,000 copies.

Park has also succeeded academically, graduating from Columbia University and becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2021. Her voice and perspective have made her a significant figure in conservative political discourse in the American media. Through her speeches, podcasts, and the publication of her second book, "While Time Remains: A North Korean Defector's Search for Freedom in America," she continues to share her experiences and thoughts. Park also maintains a YouTube channel, "Voice of North Korea by Yeonmi Park," which has amassed over one million subscribers. Park also published an op-ed about North Korea’s “Black Market Generation” in the Washington Post and has been featured on CNN, CNBC, and the BBC, as well as in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
